Research is the reason

Our Mission

The low success rates and extremely high costs of current conventional drug discovery foretell a paradigm shift to more innovative drug development strategies. IMF’s innovative drug discovery is inspired by natural traditional products and existing old drugs for the effective treatment of common, rare and hard-to-treat diseases.

Historically, an impressive number of blockbuster drugs have been isolated or synthesized (modified) from natural compounds. The drug discovery from natural products has been a very successful strategy in the development of novel therapeutic drugs. Unfortunately, in the last few decades, the profit motive has led to the abandonment of research and development of these products losing the potential for effective, safe and affordable management of hard-to-treat, common and rare diseases. Given our rich experience in clinical practice, research findings, publications and hundreds of years of traditional medicine knowledge, we consider drug discovery using natural products to be a major contributor to solving global health challenges and achieving sustainable development goals in health.

Our mission is to research and develop innovative, effective and non-toxic treatments for acute and chronic difficult-to-treat diseases for patients around the world.
